Spectacular red. Its without doubt the best wine encountered over four visits to Portugal.
Intense and concentrated, with fine tannic structure, it is distinguished by its delicacy, a characteristic of the Quinta do Noval style. It is the product of a strict selection from the best lots produced by our property in any given year. This wine is delicious and will also mature well in a cellar.
“This full-bodied red wine reflects the wild nature of the Douro valley with class, finesse and style. Intense and complex, it combines ripe red fruit flavours with dark chocolate, pepper and spice. Fine balance and deep concentration with fine silky tannins that give a remarkably intense, long finish.”
The wine was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels of different ages, in the air conditioned cellars of the Quinta before bottling.
Quinta do Noval Douro Doc is a blended wine using the noble grape varieties of the Douro: 70% Touriga Nacional; 30% Touriga Franca.

This is a very fine from the great Port estate. With dark tannins, a mineral texture and rich fruits it is a real Douro wine. But there is also a great sense of elegance that may come from the property’s Bordeaux management team. Put the two together and you have a great wine that will age well. Drink from 2019.
