A winery we have spent time at in South Africa and have had Jeremy join us for brilliant tastings in England. We are very interested in Painted Wolf due to the positive impact on customers at our tastings and for the winery’s commitment to supporting the endangered African wild dogs- the rarest large mammal in South Africa. With only around 400 adult dogs (Painted Wolfs) remaining, the support from the sales of these wines contribute to the vital conservation of these stunning animals. We are arranging for founder winemaker Jeremy to visit us in again in 2026 for a talk and wine tasting with our customers.
Bright ruby red. Nose is compact with brooding red fruit and spicy wood. The palate is round and supple with red fruit flavour accented by spicy wood. It is a deeply satisfying wine.

Robust dishes influenced by the southern french and spanish kitchen such as ratatouille, braised beef shanks with orange and green olives, various empanadas etc

Jeremy and Emma Borg founded Painted Wolf to create wines from a small number of growers in some of South Africa’s prime sites, including Paarl, Swartland and Stellenbosch – from low-yielding areas which are mostly unirrigated and farmed organically or with minimal organic outputs – and to support conservation of the endangered African wild dog.
