As luck would have it, Shiraz grapes love poor, gravelly soil – just the kind of soil we have in abundance on parts of our farm. The kind you need to produce world-beating Shiraz.  Nature has smiled upon us because the very same vineyards on Hartenberg with the perfect soils for Shiraz, also have the perfect weather for it.

Plum and mulberry aromas on the nose, wrapped in a warm embrace of cinnamon, anise, and pepper. The palate is full and enveloping, with well-integrated tannins adding depth. A seamless marriage of dark fruit and spice is complemented by a smoky, meaty edge. Excellently balanced and complex, this wine is a true reflection of Hartenberg’s unique terroir.
