Guy Amiot et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie 2014

Domaine Guy Amiot was founded in 1920 and is now run by brothers Thierry and Fabrice who represent the fourth generation. Located in Chassagne, the domaine comprises of 4 hectares of village and 4 hectare of 1er Cru vineyards as well as a row or two of Le Montrachet. Thierry uses modern techniques to make traditional styled wines respecting vintage character. All cuvées are treated with 30% new oak for 12 months. Thierry’s wines combine richness, elegance, aromatic complexity and ageing potential. They are exemplary white wines that remain mystifyingly slightly under the radar but show a superb interplay of fruit, extract, minerality, and ultimately, great balance. They are stylish but restrained and their top 1er Crus are dynamite.
