The most consistent Chateau in St. Estephe, it has the area’s great ability to age but possibly with a little more elegance than some of its neighbours. As a chateau it is one of the most intriguing and well worth a visit. As a wine it is a consistent delight and a definite super second but one where prices have stayed within reach and we can therefore taste some of the finest vintages in this period. jancis robinson
