75cl bottle.

We have been privileged to visit this fine Chateau on three occasions, and stay at the lovely Petit Hureau next door, who are also carved into the impressive tufa rock hills. Owner Philipe invited us into the cellars to be involved in the tasting of the blends for the excellent 2015 vintage.

Château du Hureau is the best producer in Saumur-Champigny and produces award-winning wines.
The Tuffe cuvee, so-called because of the “tuffeau” limestone rock on which the Cabernet Franc grapes grow. The grapes are sorted, macerated for 25-35 days and aged for 12-24 months. This wine is made from handpicked Cabernet Franc grapes and has vivid dark fruits with flowery scented aromas on the nose. The palate is gorgeously fresh with a good bite of crunchy acidity with mineral notes showing through to its silky finish.
