Château Angludet is a historic estate with wine considered by many to be of Grand Cru Classé quality. It expresses finesse, elegance and aromatic complexity typical of the Margaux AOC.

I have always enjoyed this undervalued wine, it’s almost (secretly) up there with one of its famous neighbours which we sell for £400 a bottle more. If you pick the right vintage you begin to realise this is the smart option.

Pure excellence from the (lockdown) 2020 vintage. Many wines from this year are now revealing enhanced qualities/depths to them, due not only a good vintage but to the fact there were no cars, no planes, no pollution and minimal travel. Winemakers stayed home and tended their vines with even more care than usual.

Critic Reviews:

Jancis Robinson 16.5/20

46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot. Mid crimson. Fragrant with both red and black fruit, open and inviting but not overly sweet-fruited. Sweeter-tasting on the palate, with red plums and oak sweetness. Incredibly smooth texture, rounded, approachable and yet still fresh. Almost soft on the finish.
