Flint Vineyard was born from co-founder and Head Winemaker Ben Witchell’s deep passion for wine. Leaving behind a career in IT, Ben pursued a degree in Oenology and Viticulture, which laid the foundation for his expertise. His time in Beaujolais, France, further shaped his winemaking philosophy, blending scientific precision with creative expression. Upon returning to England, he sought the perfect location to apply his knowledge and vision. A chance email to landowner Adrian Hipwell led to a partnership that brought Flint Vineyard to life in South Norfolk.
Today, Flint Vineyard thrives with over 35,000 vines and a state-of-the-art winery, gaining recognition for producing some of the UK’s most exciting wines. South Norfolk’s dry, sunny climate provides ideal conditions for crafting expressive and vibrant wines. With a major winery expansion underway and new vineyard plantings planned, Ben and his team continue to push the boundaries of English winemaking, embracing sustainability, innovation, and a commitment to redefining what English wine can be.
