From an unblended cask of 19 year old Bunnahabhain, distilled on the 17th April 1980 and bottled as part of the First Cask Series from Direct Wines Ltd who released some outstanding and rare bottles quarterly for a period in the early 2000’s.

This bottle was originally from a private collection and has been stored by the owner since purchase. It comes with its original booklet containing notes on its history.

Thanks to the provenance of the original notes that come with this Malt we know its actually from a Sherry cask.

Having spent 19 years in Sherry cask this Islay malt has taken on a deep orangey hue. Its aroma hints of Sherry too, mingling with notes of blossom and peat. Classic, smooth elegant Bunnahabhain with a long, dry finish.
