2017 THE OWL & THE DUST DEVIL ICON BLEND
This red wine i s a single vineyard blend o f Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Petit Verdot, Tannat and Cabernet Franc . The Cabernet gives the wine
backbone and structure which i s supported b y the aromatics and silky
profile o f the Malbec and Cabernet Franc . Petit Verdot and Tannat
provide not only a rich core t o the wine but also depth o f character and
flavour for superb ageing potential .
VINTAGE 2017
On the lead u p t o vintage 2017 , Mendoza experienced a moderate and
dry winter with temperatures slightly above average . During the
cold, dry spring our Malbec suffered decreased yields but high quality o f
the fruit . The later development o f Petit Verdot, Tannat , Cabernet Franc
and Cabernet Sauvignon meant they was unaffected b y the early spring
frost . The 2017 shows the nuances o f each o f these varieties from high
quality parcels .
