Château de la Négly is located 20km from Narbonne in the heart of the massif de la Clape. It is run by Jean-Paul Rosset who with winemaker Cyril Chamontin and consultant, Claude Gros, have made vast improvements in recent years and have received much critical acclaim for their impressive and complex wines.
La Côte is an opulent red with cassis and black pepper. One of the finest wines
The 2016 La Clape La Cote has outstanding potential and is another beautifully concentrated red from this team that holds onto a sense of purity and elegance. Black cherries, currants, peppery spice and leather all flow to an inky colored, full-bodied and balanced 2016 that’s going to drink nicely for 4-5 years. I suspect it will be a terrific value. The blend is 40% Grenache and 30% each of Syrah and Carignan.
